Basic Youth Advising
This webinar will cover some of the basics of being a youth advisor and give participants resources to continue their learning. We’ll cover the “Entry Level” of the UUA Youth Advising Competencies including: differences between teacher, parent, mentor, and youth advisor; challenges with confidentiality including mandatory reporting and working as a team with the religious professionals in your congregation for the health and well being of your youth; and Safe Congregations aspects of youth programming. We’ll cover some resources that may be helpful in your continued self-development and ways to get further training.

Creating a Weeklong Youth Justice Experience in Your Congregation
Come learn about a replicable model for creating local-based, weeklong justice experiences for the youth in your congregation. This model draws on interests and leadership of your youth and partnering them with local organizations creating more justice in your town or city. Lane Campbell has been creating Justice Week programs for youth of the First UU Church of Columbus, OH and the Ohio-Meadville Youth Adult Committee for the past two years.
